In Praying the News, concerned readers will find a practical guide to discovering the power, joy, and peace of partnering with God. Veteran news reporters Wendy Griffith and Craig von Buseck offer an unvarnished assessment of the media, as well as a comprehensive biblical plan for effective, world-changing prayer. They tell behind-the-scenes stories, not only of effective prayer for the news, but also of their prophetic intercession while reporting the news. Bad news is no match for the Good News of God's kingdom! Praying the News meets a deeply felt need as we continue to be shaken by the events we see on the news.

PRAISE FOR
PRAYING THE NEWS
In 2004, hopeless and desperate people began to pray in Manchester, Kentucky, and the Lord gave us a plan to march through our city. Sixty-three churches and more than 3,500 people marched in a cold rain, and that march gave the Church a voice. The Lord took us from the city of dope to the city of hope ! Today, we are living in a time when many are discouraged and have given up. The Church in America needs to fall on its knees again and cry out to the only One who can help. This book is a book of hope ! Allow the Lord to stir you as you read these stories of encouragement. It is a timely book that can change your life.
Doug Abner
Senior Pastor, Community Church, Manchester, Kentucky
I’ve worked in a lot of newsrooms in my life, but to lead a team of journalists who value and understand the power of prayer is both humbling and thrilling. In Praying the News , Wendy and Craig capture the responsibility and excitement that comes from partnering with God to change the headlines.
Rob Allman
News Director, The Christian Broadcasting Network
God said that if we pray, He will hear us and heal our land (see 2 Chron. 7:14). With so many negative reports in the news, Wendy and Craig show us that prayer can take that helpless feeling and turn it into hope that God has a game plan in the midst of pain and chaos. Praying the News will inspire you to take your assigned place in God’s army as a prayer warrior and stand in that position of prayer patiently as God answers your plea for help, direction and wisdom.

Jesus promised that He would send the Holy Spirit and that He would guide us into all truth. We have seen in Toronto, and around the world as this blessing has spread, that we need to make room for the Holy Spirit to lead us. In Praying the News , Craig von Buseck and Wendy Griffith show how Spirit-led intercession can change the headlines—and change history.

Founders, Catch the Fire Ministries
Many years ago, God showed me the vital importance of prayer in the life of every believer—and every ministry. The foundational principle of prayer is that God speaks to our hearts by His Spirit, and then we respond in prayer and move His heart. Praying the News demonstrates the biblical truth that the Church is called to be an eternal house of intercession.
Mike Bickle
Director, International House of Prayer, Kansas City, Missouri
It’s one thing to be interviewed by a news reporter on TheCall prayer gatherings but it is a wholly different experience to be interviewed by a news reporter who carries the spirit of TheCall within her. Throughout TheCall history, Wendy Griffith and CBN have been there with us, not just reporting but interceding and praying for us. This book by Wendy and Craig von Buseck will put TheCall in your heart because it flows from the sanctuary of Wendy and Craig’s experience and life before God. Wendy, you are an Esther on the stage of history for this moment in America. Esther called the nation to prayer, and this book is that call.
Lou Engle
Executive Director of Justice House of Prayer and TheCall
As I have ministered with Craig von Buseck and Wendy Griffith at the Christian Broadcasting Network, I have witnessed firsthand their commitment to a life of prayer. In Praying the News , they share stories of how God moved in miraculous ways when they sought Him in intercession and lay a biblical foundation for those who desire to see God move in the same way in their lives. You will be blessed and challenged by this book.

In Praying the News , Craig von Buseck and Wendy Griffith issue a call to believers to arise as watchmen and intercessors to declare God’s purposes in the earth. This book will revolutionize your prayer life as you learn to watch and pray from a new and powerful prophetic perspective. It is a must-read for all who want to see God’s kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.

For every citizen who is truly concerned about the future of our nation and world, Praying the News is one of the most important books you will read. As a Christian who believes that power through prayer is still available to the Church today, I am thrilled that a book like this has been written. Given the condition of our world today, I could not imagine a more timely resource than this. Get ready for a book that will deepen both your intimacy with God and your personal impact for Christ.

For all of us, the “news” is not only part of our daily lives but also is critical to our understanding of the world in which we live. Praying the News brings an important perspective: prayer changes things, even the news. Wendy Griffith and Craig von Buseck have penned a must-read book.

For years I have been interested in praying the Scriptures. Now, Wendy Griffith and Craig von Buseck have given us a way to start praying the news. What better person to teach us how to become intercessors of the events in our world than Wendy, who is a news anchor for the 700 Club ? Let’s all start praying the news.

The world is experiencing an onslaught of terrorism, natural disasters and evil powers. Daily news often brings fear, hopelessness and desperation. Wendy Griffith and Craig von Buseck have written a powerful book that equips intercessors to change these tragedies into times of victory. Practical help is provided so that the person praying is armed and ready for battle. I highly recommend Praying the News for anyone desiring to be used by God to help change the world.

DEDICATION
To my heavenly Father, who always invites me to pray and partner with Him, and who gives us the desires of our hearts as we delight in Him (see Ps. 37:4). Also to my parents. I love you. Because of you, I have been able to pursue my dreams with no fear, as I always knew that I had a place to call home .

FOREWORD
Years ago as I prayed early in the morning in my study, the Lord began showing me principles of Scripture that were as irrefutable as the laws of gravity and thermodynamics. The spiritual laws I discovered in this time of prayer became the guiding principles for The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) and the basis for my bestselling book The Secret Kingdom .
During another time of prayer, the Lord showed me that He wanted CBN to engage the culture by reporting on current events. This changed the way we presented The 700 Club and gave birth to CBN News.
Jesus demonstrated the essential nature of prayer throughout His earthly ministry, teaching us to pray, “thy Kingdom come, thy will be done.” I learned from His example that prayer is the most powerful tool we have to change our lives, our communities and the worl
