I n this book, we’re going to talk about the history of money. So, let’s get right to it!
T oday, whenever we need to buy something, we pull out our wallets and we pay with paper money, coins, or credit cards. If we’re buying something online, we can click a link and we’ll be able to put things into an online cart and buy them with money that’s coming right out of our bank account or with a credit card.
Credit card, bank check and stacks of coins.
W hen civilization was just beginning, money in the form that we know it, hadn’t been invented yet. The idea for money started with a system of trading that we call bartering. People still barter for things today, but more than likely they do it when they don’t want to spend any cash or don’t have any cash to spend.
