Facts The dead soldier in the tank at the end of the first episode was portrayed by Sam Witwer. Original plans had the second season starting showing the journey of the soldier through the fall of Atlanta to how he ended up in the tank where Rick find’s him. These plans were scrapped following the departure of show runner Frank Darabont.
