Saul loves playing in the sea, but his father hates him going near it ever since Saul's mother drowned. Unhappy with these restrictions, Saul runs away to the waters - where he makes a life-changing discovery. Has he found his true home at last?In the same style as the Shades 2.0 series, this book tells a fast-paced story but is much shorter than the Shades, allowing for less-able readers to still experience the gripping story but with much simpler language and a larger font. A new addition to the Sharp Shades series, this book isn't a shortened version of one of the Shades, but instead an entirely new story to experience.

C HAPTER O NE
Nora screamed. A frantic, ear-splitting shriek. To me it was muffled and watery, but I recognised the sound. Blast. She’d found me.
I stayed underwater, making the most of it. Wallowing in it. The sky above me was the colour of pondwater, streaked with weed instead of cloud. The pool was murky but I liked it. I liked the green fronds winding slimily round my limbs; I liked how my eyes dilated to find the light.
Now I could make out my stepmother’s distorted shape. Sighing out my last bubbles of air, I surfaced to take another breath, and what was coming to me. Cold air shrank the skin on my face. Dry air. I winced.
‘Saul MacKinnon! You get out of that pond RIGHT now.’
‘Coming,’ I muttered. ‘Keep your wig on.’
