A collection of poems created by imagery that allows the soul to wander through the good and bad in life.
Using philosophical thought and imagination through innuendos, these poems push the reader into a world of their own, to create their own take of the modern soul and life lived.

About the Author
The author was born in Western Australia and raised in the small coal-mining town of Collie. She has managed to attain three degrees, a dog, and a house.
Writing her first novel and undertaking her first screenplay and loving life by writing poetry. She is in a happy place. Initially, she was a school teacher and then a chartered accountant. She was influenced by a humble, down-to-earth human who has an amazing talent for acting in and around LA. This person helped her remember who she is and what her passions are. Also surrounding him are amazing down-to-earth people (actors and other non-acting beautiful people) who have helped her to discover what she is capable of; always believing in her.
Her road has taken her far from where she had been and loved, back to being in love with storytelling, music and poetry. All her very first loves are: theatre acting, singing/ songwriting, poetry, writing and reading.
She acted in theatre at a young age through which she was fortunately able to travel overseas. She learnt to play the piano for seven years. She has been a high school teacher, learned karate, sang in a band (writing songs and performing on stage), then received her masters in professional accounting and got her chartered accounting ticket.
“A lot for one so young but onward and upwards,” she says, “Following my dreams and trying to keep it real.”
Dedication
I dedicate this book to some key people: Jake Stormoen, you are my muse; Sonalii Castillo, you are the strength behind my soul and Chad Michael Collins, you are my motivation.
All of you encouraged me in some way—endless energy to get up, fall down, do it again until you succeed.
I also dedicate these poems to my ‘The Outpost’ Blackbloods. You have all inspired me and propelled me onwards to complete this book. I love you all.

Twenty-five years in the making, I have written songs and poetry. Some of this poetry is more than 25 years old, as I have never lost what I really wanted to do in life, and that is to write poetry, music, novels and screenplays. I want to captivate audiences so that they can see they are not alone and that there is a way forward. I would love people to relate to what I write so that each person can take away something different, from one poem, then the person sitting next to them. Interpretation is a concept that is endless.
We all belong and want everyone to have sense of belonging. This is what I give to everyone. A sense of being understood and belonging and hope.
Darkness in a Soul
When we despair because we cannot see the light, we empty ourselves and see the world with blinkers on. The pain is real and the loneliness and desolation creeps in. How we move forward does not come from without. It comes from within. You are your own protector and strength.

Suffocation
My chest feels like it’s
Suffocating
Fragments of tiny stars
Flash before my eyes
It’s a pain but it is numb
One thing hits me
One after the other
Never ending
Walls close in
My thoughts strangled
Life looks insane
Spirit can see reality
As it hovers above
Watching as parts of its self-join
Moving into free empty space
As the body collapses
The eyes can’t see
The mind can’t think
Trapped in hatred
Held by emotions
Imprisoned in life
Screaming in pain I cry
Let me fall off the spinning globe.
Emptiness
There is no reset button
Blood has been spilled
It cannot be forgotten
All the loudness stilled
What is left is one chair
Middle of the room
Bright light shining there
Situation in full bloom
Slumping to one side
Tangled dirty hair folds
Hands cupped in lap hide
Numbness just placed cold
Clothes are ripped and torn
No shoes, feet dirty and twisted
Skin showing battered and worn
All hope disappears with wishes
The stare is soulless
The reach is endless
The mind is emptiness
The body is vessel-less.
This Cave
This cave exists
Among fossils and the moss
Note the warm ledges
And the greying cracks
Rocks fell here years ago
Bashing the walls
Smashing the ground
Damp has set in
Water trickles in dank rusty puddles
The corners are black
And the air is stale
Protected by decaying mould
No sound escapes the dull quiet space
A voice once spoke here
Now strangled and drifting
Colour no longer plays apart
This cave exists!

Despair

Swallowed up by water
Drowning my lungs
Taking my words
Screaming to silence
No one notices
Fighting for air
Feet finding no grip
Arms flailing
Voice disappeared
No one hears
Heart is pierced
Salt tears merge
Murky and dark
Blind and frightened
No one is looking
Soul fractured
Despair infused
Limbs torn apart
Mind is numb
No one cares.

Existence
Crumbled in sin
Opened up and
Delivered outward
Confessing falseness
Needing warmth
Upside down and
Inverted in loneliness
Invisible and intangible
Despair dripping
Wounded and plundered
Lightning inside a
Steel plate shatters
Exploding the mind
Blood like tears rain
Down in the depths
Of my soul thudding
Life seeping into wasteful
Baskets of skin shrinking
Lifeless and lonely
With no one to defend
Rotting without want
Living without existence.
