THE
CONVERSATION
Where is your favorite place to read?
Think about it for a minute. Do you curl up in a cozy chair
with the latest hardcover? Do you sit outside, turning your
face up to the sun as you listen to an audiobook? Maybe
you re at a local cafe, enjoying a worn paperback amidst
the buzz of life around you. Wherever and however you
like to read, one thing is certain: reading is a solitary act.
But being a reader? That s a shared experience, and that
shared experience is what LIT CHAT is all about.
Books give us ways to make sense of the world, and they
provide an escape from it. Books are magical. We made
LIT CHAT because at Book Riot, we know that the only
thing readers like as much as reading books is talking
about books with other readers. The questions on these
pages invite you to explore your individual reading habits
and experiences and to imagine yourself through the lenses
of characters and stories. Answer them with your book
club, your best friends, your family, or your classmates.
We hope these questions will shed new light on your reading
life and bring you closer to your fellow book lovers. Join us
at bookriot.com to continue the adventure!

TEAM BOOK RIOT
Select a page at random and read the question aloud to the
entire group. Go around the room until everyone has had
a chance to answer, then pick a new page! Each page has
a lead question and a follow-up question. Proceed to the
follow-ups at any point to stimulate further conversation.
The object of LIT CHAT is to have fun discussing books and
being a reader so feel free to add anecdotes, factoids, and
other thoughts as they come up. Use the book titles on the
left side of the pages as a starting point if you need it!
