Let’s get into the ocean and meet our fascinating ocean friends. In this book you will learn about warm-blooded and cold-blooded creatures in the ocean.

What are cold-blooded animals? Cold-blooded animals take the temperature of their surroundings. They are cold when their surroundings are cold, and warm when their surroundings are warm. These animals are more active in warm environments. They use food to create heat. Examples of cold-blooded animals are reptiles, arachnids, amphibians and fish.

What are warm- blooded animals? These are the mammals and birds. Their bodies maintain a constant temperature. To do this, they cool themselves when they are in a warm environment and they generate their own heat when they are in a cold environment.
