Step into Another World
Have you ever dreamed of stepping through the
wardrobe into Narnia? How about traipsing through
the Hundred Acre W ood with a timid piglet, a bouncing
tiger , and a roly-poly little bear? Or crossing Diagon
Alley to a crowded shop where you are chosen by the
wand of your dreams? Perhaps you hear the charming
sounds of a violin played by a peculiar detective at 221B
Baker Street. Or just maybe, you fall down a rabbit
hole; down, down, down you go, to a little room with
little doors that lead you on a weird journey through
W onderland.
My tholog y
Myths are stories that explain things.
They are some of the oldest stories we
know . Many stories through time are
based on world myths. Details may
var y , but myths from various cultures
and civilizations often have
marked
similarities. Some experts believe those
similarities suggest common origins.

❯ Why are some stories unforgetta ble?
❯ How can an author make an

Literature is made of engaging stories that capture the
imagination. Readers en vision themselves in the stories,
and the books become real to them. The y consider the
characters old friends, and they describe the settings as
though they ha ve been there—because, in some ways, the y
have been. Readers may e ven dream of the characters and
the adventures the y could ha ve with them.
