In 1974, a startling discovery was made when workers were digging near Xian city, in Shaanxi province in China.
They found thousands of life- sized terracotta figures which is an army that is prepared for battle. They call this the Terracotta Warriors.
The pits were located about a mile from the pyramid mausoleum which was constructed for China’s first emperor, Qin Shi Huang, who reigned in 246-210 BC.
