CHICHEN ITZA, MEXICO
A s the Earth orbits the sun, the shift in its axis separates the year with four different events that mark the seasons:

T he spring equinox, when day and night are the same
T he summer solstice, when the day is longer than the night
T he autumnal equinox, when day and night are the same once again
