Out Inside is a homage to SELF. It starts by paying tribute to the "hand" which has kept the poet company at the desk and put down what he meant to be read. It ends with an unoccupied cup which also has been a faithful company to the poet every time he sat at the desk to write--a Rondo! Martin Foroz writes about every single touch to the soul, to the heart, to the mind, to the association of this trinity and to the pain of disintegration of this when it comes to making decisions. Martin is a collection of languages: he voices a kiddo, a philosopher, an ideologist, a linguist, a thinker inside walls, a living poet society, a lame soldier, a drunk--a sober drunk. Out Inside is worth reading.

About The Author
Martin Foroz (Mohammad Forouzani) is an Assistant Professor of English Language and Literature, born in Iran in 1964. He is presently living in Oman and teaching at the University of Nizwa. His previous publications concern language teaching and linguistics areas, including An Illustrative Dictionary of Semantics , which is in press. Regarding literary pieces, he has been writing poems in both Persian (native language) and English for the past twenty years. His English poems have been published in different literary journals listed in his first collection of poems, Inside Out , published by Olympia Publishers. Martin is a nature-lover fond of photography, and is interested in travelling and discovering new places and cultures.
In his poems, Martin defamiliarizes the knowns, writes of regular irregularities, zooms in and out in slow pace, and reaches pathos in his ink to tell about what’s Out there that creeps Inside —which “makes all the difference”.

My sincere thanks goes to Austin Macauley Publishers’ wonderful staff for their meticulous planning and management of the editing, publication, and marketing of this book. Their concerted efforts made it possible for me to voice Out whatever was born and raised Inside my heart and thought.
To the readers
Martin Foroz,
an Expat
who writes about life in a pause in rhyme or unrhymed—
who writes about war that
goes on in the sky, on the ground, in streets, house by house—
who writes about falling in love during the fall
when the sun is hidden behind the cloud
and the leaves start falling down the ground—
Martin
writes about His society, Olympians;
about embarrassed loss of innocence;
about walls; a single cell; a silenced shout;
He writes about Art which displays
a little child
an old mom
a dad in war
a broken heart
a love being lost
a house without owner
an owner without house;
a past but now—
Martin writes for
soldiers in war—enemies,
who got handicapped but who are now friends
each with one foot
carrying with them the war crime; or
for the war-stricken hero at the bar
who had been back from a recent war,
and was angry and swore
like a lost lion he roared
and then took the shinning floor—
Martin writes about the loss after she left
when he remained--
in the darkness
with no identity,
almost heartless—
Martin turns the last page
late at night,
in his abandoned place with an unoccupied tea cup
and reads the last vacuous lines of verse…
The Hand
Fifty something, this hand has been with me
It has written many different things
There’s been always something on my desk---
a task, a piece, an unknown homework to do…
It wrote all these years without any complaint at all.
But only lately did it really rejoice with me over a flowing rhymed or unrhymed built-in stanza or a free piece of written literature—
an aesthetic one, of course;
Only recently did it get involved in a freshly flow expression—
of the feelings that tap at my heart to cry or to have fun;
Only recently does it write for the fool inside.
How amazing was the time when it began!
It was simply as a reply to other people’s poetry of a kind in a country far away from
my own mind
my own people,
my own land,
my own identity,
and my own life!
Humbly trembled in the chaotic situation of my heart but never left me apart—
as if it was at the service of no one but my heart.
It never stopped even when my temper was in height!
Each time, it wrote a new line,
A new metaphor,
A new simile,
A sarcastic type of pun,
A new deformity rooted in life
And I was always asking it the same question:
“May I?”
which was not answered but immediately acted upon.
It entrusted its whole functionality
