Le Centre L.-J. Lebret

Association internationale fondée en 1972, le Centre L.-J. Lebret est un centre de recherche et d¾échanges au service d¾un réseau international d¾acteurs de développement. Il a pour objectif de vérifier, rechercher et proposer des pistes de réflexion et d¾action pour un développement « équilibré, solidaire et durable ». Il publie un bulletin mensuel,Foi et Développement.

The Centre L.-J. Lebret is an international association, founded in 1972, wich provides the opportunity for grassroots workers and other development actors participating in its international network to reflect together on their experiences related to development. It aims at verifying, finding and proposing guidelines for reflection and action for « balanced, sustainable and solidarity-based development ». It publishes a monthly bulletin calledFaith and Development.

Les propos de cet ouvrage résultent en grande partie d²un séminaire international, animé par le Centre L.-J. Lebret, qui s²est tenu à Addis-Abeba en octobre 2001, accueilli dans ses locaux par la Commission économique pour l²Afrique des Nations unies (CEA). Ce séminaire a pu être organisé grâce aux concours de partenaires qui se sont largement impliqués dans sa préparation, son déroulement et son financement : −le Bureau international du travail (BIT) ® Genève ; −la Conférence des Nations unies pour l²économie et le dévelop-pement (CNUCED)®Genève ; −laDirection du développement et de la coopération (DEZA-DCC)®Suisse ; −le Comitécontre la faim et pour le développement (CCFD)® France.

The contents of this book are principally the result of discussions during the international seminar organised by the Centre L.-J. Lebret in Addis-Ababa in October 2001, hosted by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA). The seminar was realized with the precious support of partners who were highly involved in its preparation, implementation and financing : −The International Labour Office (ILO)®Geneva ; −The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD)®Geneva ; −Swiss Development Cooperation (SDC) ; −Catholic Committee against Hunger and for Development (CCFD)®France.
