SimSXCu – Full Version 2.0
Introduction
SimSXCu Full Version 2.0 is a program to simulate copper solvent extraction coniguration
as the extractant. The principle of this static simulation program is described in the public
"Simulation of Copper solvent extraction coniguration using Microsoft Excel solvers".

The goal of this publication is to give a simple procedure for designing a static simulat
solvent extraction coniguration. This simple procedure will allow designers to quickly h
program for complex coniguration or new product that have not yet simulation program
It also will allow plant metallurgists to have a static simulation program for checking pla

‘Design of copper solvent extraction conigurations’ and the experimental tests.
The speciicity of each option
Theoption "1"is the option which gives the optimum value of the extractant volume percen
organic phase when the values of the others parameters are known. It is used by designer
Theoption “2”is the option which gives the values of extractant volume percentage, satur
eficiencies when the values of the others parameters are known. It is used by plant metal
The concept of this simulation program is described in the publication called "LIX REAGE

Use of simulation
SimSXCu Full version 2.0 gives the simulation program of the 18 exiting conigurations of
extraction. Each copper solvent extraction coniguration is designated by the alphabetical
coniguration, there are two options on two Excel worksheets. For each option, there is ag
the option on the following worksheet .
On each worksheet (option and option graph), there is a Excel solver program already est
The exiting conigurations of coppe solvent extraction are:
A - Series 2Ex1S
B - Series 2Ex2S
C - Series 3Ex1S
D - Series 3Ex2S
E - Series parallel 2Ex1Px1S
F - Series parallel 2Ex1Px2S
G - Optimum series parallel 1Ex1Px1Ex1S
H - Optimum series parallel 1Ex1Px1Ex2S
I - Triple parallel 1Ex1Px1Px1S
J - Triple parallel 1Ex1Px1Px2S
K - Interlaced 1Ex1Px1Ex1Px1S
L - Interlaced 1Ex1Px1Ex1Px2S
M - Double series parallel 2Ex2Px1S
N - Doubles series parallel 2Ex2Px2S
O - Optimum triple parallel 1Ex1Px1Px1Ex1S
P - Optimum triple parallel 1Ex1Px1Px1Ex2S
Q - Organic by pass 2Ex2Px1S
R - Organic by pass 2Ex2Px2S
You can design yourself for the others conigurations following the procedure described in
"simulation of copper solvent extraction coniguration using Microsoft Excel solver"
Option 1
On the option 1 Excel worksheet, the user can only changes data having red color
color are the solver variables and data having green color are the solver constrain
v/v% : extractant volume percentage in the organic phase
AML : Maximum loaded when the free acid concentration in the PLS is zero
ML : Maximum loaded - value of copper concentration in the organic phase in steady state w
SR : saturation ratio - ratio of loaded organic (LO) to Maximum loaded (ML) - this value is
PLS : Pregnant leach solution
O/A : Ratio of organic low to aqueous low
Mixer Ef : mixer eficiency

Option 2

The value of maximum loaded (ML) comes from the plant lab and the values of othersp
