I- ORIGIN OF MILK FAT CONTENT
Milk fat content has two origins:
1- The first origin
50% in moles and 50% in weight of fatty acids secreted by udder are about
mammary absorption of long chain of fatty acids (fatty acids composed of 12 to 22
atoms of carbon) from plasma
from lipoproteins of intestinal absorption of feed lipids or of ruminal synthesis
origins,
from fatty acids non esterified (AGNE) of corporeal lipids mobilization origin.
2- The second origin
50% in moles and 50% in weight of fatty acids secreted are about intramammary
synthesis (fatty acids of 4 to 16 atoms of carbon = small chain of fatty acids).
This synthesis is realized from
acetate of ruminal origin
or beta-hydroxybutyrate of butyrate metabolism origin from ruminal epithelium.
NB : An enzyme called – delta-9 desaturase – produced from intestine and udder is
active on long and medium chain of fatty acids.
This enzyme has no effect on small chain of fatty acids.
Delta-9 desaturase is essential for desaturation of long chain of fatty acids.

II- WHY DOES IM’PROUVE ALC REDUCE MILK FAT
CONTENT?
Im’Prouve ALC is a calcium salt (By-pass) that contains two isomers. The isomer
Trans-10, Cis-12 C18 :2 inhibits fatty acids synthesis from udder.
Udder produces 50% of milk fat.
So we can’t reduce milk fat content more than 50% with Im’Prouve ALC.
Inhibition of fatty acids synthesis is reversible.
Im’Prouve ALC supplementation permits to decreases milk fat content in 15 days.
This decreasing endures about 40 days.
You have got maximum dose effect of Im’Prouve ALC at 40 days of supplementation.
If milk fat content decreasing is too high you can reduce Im’Prouve ALC
supplementation.
You need about 7 days after non Im’Prouve ALC supplementation to have again
initial milk fat content.
With 20 g of Im’Prouve ALC, it is 6 g of Trans-10, Cis-12 isomer per day

Im’Prouve ALC is efficient whatever the race and the diet because udder has the
same metabolism.
When diet is rich of acetate (hay) Im’Prouve ALC effect will be more interesting.
