STS131 crew visits Marshall to say ‘thanks for getting us into orbit’ By Sanda Martel Crew members wo flew te STS-131 space suttle Discovery in April visited te Marsall Space Fligt Center June 22 to tank te Marsall team for its role in teir mission and sare igligts of te 15-day fligt to te International Space Station. Commander Alan Poindexter was joined on te stage in Morris Auditorium in Building 4200 by pilot James Dutton and mission specialists Rick Mastraccio and Stepanie Wilson.

Marshall Star celebrates center's 50th anniversary with special issue July 1 In celebration of te Marsall Space Fligt Center's 50t anniversary July 1, te Marsall Star will publis a special anniversary issue tat day. he issue will look back at te creation of Marsall and te introduction of its first director, Werner von Braun. Two Marsall "carter members" – Ann McNair, director of te Office of Center Operations, and Jon Key, a tecnical manager for te External Tank Project – will sare te "awe moments" tey've experienced at te center during te past alf-century. he Star also will feature a Director’s Corner from Marsall Center Director Robert Ligtfoot, and a decade-by-decade look at NASA accomplisments in wic Marsall played a leading or critical role. he keepsake edition will devote 16 pages to istorical Marsall potograps – including images of President Jon F.
