DRAFT - for comment only 1 Student Recruitment Subcommittee Meeting Minutes November 17, 1999 Co-Chair Dan Peck called a meeting of the Student Recruitment Subcommittee to order on November 17, 1999 at United Parcel Service. The subcommittee was the guest of the UPS Earn and Learn Program. Other members from the subcommittee in attendance were Gary Burkart, David Bostwick, Patrick Gee, Leo Hine, Loren Sprowl, Dwight Chernish, Paul Makinson, and Madelyn Harwood. Our host was Bret Williams, Employment Manager Indiana District. Other UPS employees attending included Tony Cunningham, Jeff Hopper, and Jeanette Payne. Dan welcomed new members Dwight Chernish, Paul Makinson, Lonnie Walker, and Loren Sprowl. For the benefit of new members and UPS attendees, Dan provided an overview of the Student Recruitment Subcommittee, its history, members, charter and objectives. Fundamentally, the purpose of the subcommittee is to advise the School on how to more effectively attract and grow its student population. He noted that at the beginning of this calendar year, the subcommittee had identified School to Work Programs as an area of opportunity. Bret Williams, UPS, was introduced as the Director of the Earn to Learn Program. Bret provided an overview of the program, which is fully detailed at www.upsjobs.com.
