Mosaizer Pro Tutorial  The photo mosaic picture  Here you learn how to make a photo mosaic picture. We will show you how the basic controls are effectively applied to create, tune and vary the final result. We demonstrate the use of the preview window, the info tab and the history monitor. How to make a photo mosaic picture  About photo mosaics A photo mosaic is a picture that is build from thousands of small sub‐pictures. From close range each of the sub‐pictures is recognized, from a short distance the overall picture becomes clear. From a long distance the individual pictures are hardly recognized and it seems that we are simply looking at a photograph. The technique of photo‐mosaics is old (1993) but with increasing computer power many software programs have been developed to create beautiful mosaic effects.  Technique of photo mosaics To make a photo mosaic follows a relatively simple approach: the original (source) picture is decomposed in smaller portions (called ‘cells’ or ‘tiles’), of which each of these portions the average color (‐impression) is determined. Next, a large number of pictures is analyzed for its color characteristics and stored in a color database. Finally, for each tile a picture is substituted that matches the original color impression the best. Tile after tile is analyzed and substituted with the best picture replacement, thus building the photo mosaic picture ...
