This paper presents a full video delivery network monitoringsuite. Our monitoring tool offers a new view of a video delivery network,a view based on the quality perceived by final users. We measure, inreal time and automatically, the perceived quality at the client side bymeans of the recently proposed PSQA technology. Moreover, we improvePSQA’sefficiencyandrobustnessforvideoanalysisbystudyingtheflowsattheframelevel, insteadofthepacketlevelpreviouslyconsideredintheliterature. The developed monitoring suite is a completely free-softwareapplication, based on well-known technologies such as the Simple Net-work Management Protocol or the Round Robin Databases, which canbe executed in various operating systems. In this paper we explain thetool implementation and we present some of the first experimental mea-surements performed with it.1 IntroductionAs a consequence of the opening of video content producers to new businessmodels, the more bandwidth availability on the access network (on the Internet, cellularnetworks, privateIPnetworks, etc.)andtheexplosioninthedevelopmentof new hardware capable of reproducing and ...
