2TheWillAndTestamentof`Abdu'l-BahÃ¡behold!heistheblestandsacredboughthathathbranchedoutfromtheTwinHolyTrees.Wellisitwithhimthatseekeththeshelterofhisshadethatshadowethallmankind.OyebelovedoftheLord!ThegreatestofallthingsistheprotectionoftheTrueFaithofGod,thepreservationofHisLaw,thesafeguardingofHisCauseandserviceuntoHisWord.Tenthousandsoulshaveshedstreamsoftheirsacredbloodinthispath,theirpreciouslivestheyofferedinsacrificeuntoHim,hastenedwraptinholyecstasyuntothegloriousfieldofmartyr-dom,upraisedtheStandardofGodsFaithandwritwiththeirlife-bloodupontheTabletoftheworldtheversesofHisDivineUnity.ThesacredbreastofHisHoliness,theExaltedOne(maymylifebeasacrificeuntoHim),wasmadeatargettomanyadartofwoe,andinMázindarán,theblessedfeetoftheAbháBeauty(maymylifebeofferedupforHislovedones)weresogrievouslyscourgedastobleedandbesorewounded.HisneckalsowasputintocaptivechainsandHisfeetmadefastinthestocks.Ineveryhour,foraperiodoffiftyyears,anewtrialandcalamitybefellHimandfreshafflictionsandcaresbesetHim.Oneofthem:afterhavingsufferedintensevicissitudes,Hewasmadehomelessandawandererandfellavictimtostillnewvexationsandtroubles.InIráq,theDay-Staroftheworldwassoexposedtothewilesofthepeopleofmaliceastobeeclipsedinsplendor.LateronHewassentanexiletotheGreatCity(Constantinople)andthencetotheLandofMystery(Adrianople),whence,grievouslywronged,HewaseventuallytransferredtotheMostGreatPrison(Akká).HeWhomtheworldhathwronged(maymylifebeofferedupforHislovedones)wasfourtimesbanishedfromcitytocity,tillatlast,condemnedtoperpetualconfinement,Hewasincarceratedinthisprison,theprisonofhighwayrobbers,ofbrigandsandofman-slayers.AllthisisbutoneofthetrialsthathaveafflictedtheBlessedBeauty,therestbeingevenasgrievousasthis.AndstillanotherofHistrialswasthehostility,theflagrantin-justice,theiniquityandrebellionofMírzáYa%yá.Althoughthat
