2Meena and Bela went to the same school. They were friends and their families liked visiting
each other. But this time, parents had brought upsetting news to Meena’s house.Bela’s
3Bela’s parents had decided to take her out of school.
4Bela’s parents were worried for her safety. She was growing up and the walk to school was
long and lonely.
5Meena and Bela were both very upset. Meena knew how important it is for girls to continue
school.
6family also knew the importance of educating girls. They saw how much MeenaMeena’s
had learnt by going to school.
7Suddenly, Meena had a wonderful idea. It would allow Bela to continue her studies and also
keep her safe!
8The grown ups liked Meena’s idea. This idea could help other girls too!
