Physics of Advanced Materials Winter School 2008 1 Shape and composition oriented synthesis of cobalt nanoparticles K. Simeonidis, S. Mourdikoudis, A. Vilalta-Clemente, I. Tsiaoussis, M. Angelakeris, and O. Kalogirou Physics Department, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece Abstract This study focuses on the modulation of synthetic parameters in order to influence the size, structure, composition and arrangement of cobalt nanoparticles. The synthetic procedure followed is the thermo-decomposition method of cobalt precursors in the presence of organic solvents and surfactants.
