The university provides special services for international students, and as the Erasmus Mundus joint programmes represent the excellence of the European higher education, our Mundus students are welcomed not only at Faculty level but by the programme coordinators too. TEMA–European Territories (Civilisation, nation, region, city): Identity and Development Application deadline:9 January 2012 TheTEMA–European Territories (Civilisation, nation, region, city): Identity and Developmentis an Erasmus Mundus Master Course jointly offered by Eötvös Loránd University of Budapest, Hungary; École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales of Paris, France; University of Catania, Italy and Charles University of Prague, Czech Republic. The 2-year-long (120 ECTS) European Master Course TEMA proposes the analysis of political use and scientific representation of territorial units (civilization, nation, region, city) in an interdisciplinary, research-based curriculum. Organised in four major modules: civilization, nation, region and city, that represent four research scales, as well as four different approaches to historical, political, social, and cultural issues of space and those of territory, the TEMA Master provides students with an in-depth understanding of European cohesion policy and regional development emphasising on legal framework and scientific analysis. Two categories of scholarship are available: one for European (monthly allowance and contribution to the participation costs) and another one for non-European students (monthly allowance, contribution to travel, installation and to the Master Course participation costs). EÖTVÖS LORÁND UNIVERSITY RECTOR’S OFFICEDEPARTMENT OF INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION AND MOBILITY The Doctorate in Cultural and Global Criminology (DCGC) Application deadline:16 January 2012, 23.59pm GMTTheDoctorate in Cultural and Global Criminology (DCGC)is a 3-year interdisciplinary, collaborative PhD-programme which combines the expertise and strengths of four universities with established reputations in the field: the University of Kent, Eötvös Lorand University (ELTE, Budapest, Hungary), the University of Hamburg (Germany), and Utrecht University (Netherlands). European criminology has been based either within the social sciences or in law, DCGC combines their best aspects in structured, inter-disciplinary, and international doctoral training programme. DCGC offers the opportunity for international criminological research about the problems and issues faced by civil society and the public sector. The innovativelystructured program is staffed with excellent academics and provides research students with the best fitting mobility pathways in their research in one of the following themes: -Crime, Media, Culture, -Criminal Justice Policy, Social Change and Exclusion, -Globalization, Transnational Crime and Control, -Human Rights and International Security. Moreover, it provides background knowledge behind major trends in economy, politics, society, social policy, social geography, and social psychology of the countries in the region. Extra-curricular activities have been designed to place students in various internships where they become acquainted with real-life minority situations, to offer field-trips for more direct experiences, and to introduce students to an active research culture in a supportive framework.
