The Song Dynasties (northern and southern) were marked by an interest in culture and in the
intellectual. It is a period known as the “Chinese Renaissance;” a time when many books;

popularity during the Song (Sung) dynasty (960-1279). Su Tung-po, was the best-
known tz'u poet of China.”
