THE SWAROVSKI COLLECTIVE Sponsorship Application Autumn/Winter 2013 HISTORY IN FASHION The Swarovski story began in 1895 when Daniel Swarovski invented a machine for cutting and polishing crystal. This revolutionized jewellery manufacturing and since then, has inspired the worlds of art, design, fashion and film for over a hundred years. Swarovski began collaborating with the leading couturiers of Paris such as Elsa Schiaparelli and Coco Chanel in the early 1900s, later continuing with the luxury houses of the 1950s such as Christian Dior; all equally inspired by the array of opportunities crystals would bring to their collections. Since joining the family business, Nadja Swarovski has implemented a series of visionary initiatives that reinforce Swarovski’s commitment to support and celebrate both established and emerging designers. The Swarovski Collective sponsorship programme was created in 1999 following a special collaboration between a young Alexander McQueen, Isabella Blow and Nadja Swarovski. The programme has subsequently gained recognition within the industry for supporting cutting edge fashion talents to push the boundaries of creativity, while positioning Swarovski Elements as the ultimate creative ingredient.

THE SWAROVSKI COLLECTIVE Sponsorship Application Autumn/Winter 2013
HISTORY IN FASHION
The Swarovski story began in 1895 when Daniel Swarovski invented a machine for cutting and polishing crystal. Each season, designers from New York, London, Paris and Milan apply to the programme, which over previous years has included Philip Treacy, Hussein Chalayan, Viktor & Rolf, Proenza Schouler, Christopher Kane, Givenchy, Rodarte, Erdem, Alexander Wang, Marios Schwab, Jason Wu and Mary Katrantzou. The Swarovski Collective Spring/Summer 2013 season included designers such as Altuzarra, Creatures of the Wind, Rodarte, Wes Gordon, Juan Carlos Obando, Mary Katrantzou, Giles, Marios Schwab, Maarten van der Horst, Huishan Zhang and Anthony Vaccarello. Swarovski would like to offer you the unique opportunity to join the Autumn/Winter 2013 programme and benefit from the seasonal support and publicity we generate for designers of The Swarovski Collective.
