St. Mary’s | Mid-Mod Majesty
List Price:1,400,000.001,300,000.00Neighborhood:FoothillProperty Profile:4,738 sq. ft. | 5 bed, 4 bath
Our Opinion:This here is one of thoseonly-of-its-kindnumbersa well-preserved, mid-century home in the coveted St. Mary’s neighborhood, with enough high-endupdates to scream “modern” and all the well-crafted fun of 1956 still fully intact. We assume that’s just as local architect, Robert Fowler, intended. The work that’s been done since he designed and built the home, which includes the main bath and a jaw-dropping kitchen redesign, served to subtly push this space into the realms of the luxe and the cover ofUtah Style & Design(whichwe talked a bit about last week). A wall of floor-to-vaulted-ceiling windows lines the west side of the stunning kitchen and living areas, and we think the evening valley views, alone, are worth the purchase. Superb flow throughout for gatheringsthe original atrium, open kitchen, and main living area are connected in a sweeping circular pattern. Said remodeled kitchen boasts a thousand details worth considerationsolid brass hood, backed by a gorgeous granite backsplash, two dishwashers in the compartmentalized “cleaning” section of the room, a Caesarstone island, and white-oak chevron floors, to name a few. The living areas boast original stone fire places, and (true-to-the-era) slight level changes that create depth and dimension in each space. Oh, and every room gets a view, of course. The original design of the home hugs the natural lines of the landscape at the base of the Eastern mountains. Curbside, it’s an intriguing but unassuming, and there’s asense of total privacy that perfectly contradicts the inviting and open nature of the interior.Thishome inthislocation is a rare enough occurrence. Pass on this deal, and you’re unlikely to be dealt the same hand again.
