Our Opinion: Good design–design that makes sense while making a statement–is hard to come by. So much pretense out there. It’s difficultnotto get a little jaded when words like ‘modern’ and ‘avant-garde’ get thrown around carelessly. Not so at 1256 High Crest Circle in Fruit Heights. This one is the genuine article. Built in 2015, the intention behind this residence was to create a space that fully maximizes the views to the west (including the Great Salt Lake) while at the same time offering something fresh and visually-engaging to the neighborhood. The result is a home that stands apart, and it all starts with that custom entry made from black walnut and horizontally-run glass panels which hint that something noteworthy lay beyond. Designed and decorated by local interior designer, Alice Lane, everything has been carefully considered. From the towering ceilings (those beams!) to the open layout, the main floor is a dream (and all furniture on said level is included in the sale). The fireplace is a remarkable slab of granite, deliberately off-set and completely stunning, and a similar brand of geometric design carries throughout the rest of the home, from the diagonally-laid white oak flooring to walls and shower stalls. Above the main level, a private loft space works swimmingly for those officing at home (or meditating, as it were). And double sliders onallfloors lead to expansive decks, so a sunset never need be missed. Just 25 minutes from Snowbasin, 20 minutes from the airport, and mereyardsfrom the Bonneville Shoreline Trail and the Bear Creek Nature Preserve. It would seem this is what they mean by “the whole package”.
