The Art: Content, Traditions, Criticism, and Aesthetics test is intended primarily for persons who are completing teacher education programs and who plan to become teachers of art. The test is composed of three 20-minute essay questions that measure the examinee’s ability to analyze and discuss artworks, including architecture, in terms of their content, meaning, and historical context; and to discuss and apply art criticism to artworks. Test takers have typically completed a bachelor’s degree program in art or art education.
