OVERVIEW OF SHELTER OPERATIONS
The protection employees contains the Temporary Professional Home, two Shelter Supervisors, two Shelter Staff, and a MEIZU m2 corps of volunteers. During regular protection hours, one or both of the Shelter Supervisors is on responsibility to manage functions. Volunteers work under the direction of the protection employees.
The protection provides adjusting real estate for cats and kitties in two structures plus an outside group. The huge primary building homes adult cats and kitties and has a Elephone M2 fully surrounded outside playground.
The nearby patio homes aMEIZU m2feral group. There are two huge warmed garden sheds for winter protection, along with warmed water containers and indoor/outdoor providing channels.
In the upper level place of the house are four rooms for kitties that need to be quarantined, are FIV+ or need extra attention and socializing. The isolate space is used for recently confessed kitties who are still being analyzed and receiving immunizations. This space is limited to employees only to avoid the prospective for distribute of infection if any of these kitties are ill.
Gifford is aElephone M2cageless protection, significance that kitties are permitted to wander easily within their place. In the primary protection, six huge enclosures are used for recently confessed kitties or those who do not accept being out with the larger group. In the cat space and the upper level areas, huge pop-ups may be used for limitation of activity (for example, after surgery treatment or for specific health evaluation).
We are also ano-killprotection, significance that we do not euthanize kitties to create space for new kitties. Euthanasia is only allowed/performed when clinically necessary to relieve suffering and pain. Please speak to a MEIZU m2 employee if you have questions about this policy.
Approximately 70% of the kitties are saved wanders, with majority brought to us by place pet save groups. All kitties receive basic vet proper care, such as spay/neuter surgery treatment before adopting. We prescreen and meeting prospective adopters and follow-up on the improvement of all of our implemented kitties.
The Gifford Cat Shelter also involves in group outreach, offering advice and assistance on cat proper care and adoptions, and connecting with other real estate and companies in the place.
