Annales de Géographie - Année 1982 - Volume 91 - Numéro 506 - Pages 480-489
Benidorm is a large touristic town and it's commercial equipment is different than in other cities. There is many more shops in a touristic town than in another one and 70% of the shops are « touristics ». Bars, restaurants, hotels are numerous as leasure shops. There is a large contrast between the concentrated and over equipment area of the old and central city where are the tourists and the modest and classical shops of the spanish borough. We can study the large influence that tourism has, on the commercial equipment of a town.
A small group front the team working on « Trade » has started to discribe the main characteristics of the trade center of a town : different types of trade — removal of commodities — up to date news shops — length of shop-windows — according to a cartographic representation. Limoges has been chosen as a sample. Cartography enables us to have a global and immediate perception of the situation.
