The Headquarters of the Gendarmerie General Command is the supreme body which is responsible for assisting the Gendarmerie General Commander in command and control of the Gendarmerie Units. In the Headquarters, the incidents affecting the public order are monitored in order to determine what kind of a unit is to be assigned for controlling a specific incident.
The Gendarmerie General Command performs its activities for the preservation of the public order and security through the Gendarmerie Regional Commands. The Provincial Gendarmerie Commands are subordinated to the Gendarmerie Regional Commands.
Next are the District Gendarmerie Commands which involve the subordinate Gendarmerie posts. Furthermore, there are Provisional Gendarmerie Public Order Posts and Gendarmerie Public Order Points established at resort areas, industrial zones, and critical road junctions to make it easier for the citizens and tourists to get in touch with the Gendarmerie.
