This menu enables to read all the necessary inputs: images, mask, PoV. It enables also to save the results. 3C features (as reading PoV, see §3.1.6) are grayed in 2C mode.
1.1 Reading images There are two ways to read images. The first one requires one of the three following syntaxes for the first image: aaaannnnbbbb[0,1,2,a].[afx,tif]oraaaannnnbbbb.im7 aaaais the prefix,.nnnnis the image number. All images should have the same digit number.Bbbis an optional suffix, as_.[0,1,a] is the format flag. If0, the images areX0 X1 andX2 X3 for the second camera in 3C. If1, the images areX1 X2andX3 X4for the second camera in 3C. If2, the images areX2andX3, thus only valid for 2C. Ifa, the images areXa XbandXc Xdfor the second camera in 3C. For theim7format, all the images are in one file. Fortifformat, the images can be in the same file. The second way is to read the images one by one. There is no requirement about their name.
1.2 Reading, Saving & Deleting masks A mask may be read for 2C as well as for 3C. For 3C, it is possible to read a mask for each camera. For 3C, it is possible to save the rectified mask. It can be read and modified with another software, then loaded again. When reading, the first step is to destroy the existing mask(s). Then if no mask(s) is read (this happens when pressing thecancelbutton in the file dialog box), this is equivalent to destroying the mask(s). This is why there is no dedicated item for mask(s) destroying. Warning:the two modes reading mode for 3C cannot be combined: choose either a single mask or a maskpair. Warning:the size of the rectified mask depends on the PoVs: any modification about them (as performing selfcalibration, §3.12) will change the size of the rectified mask. Reloading a rectified mask is usually not possible when this happens. It is then highly recommended to read a maskpair, one for each camera: the rectified mask will be recomputed according to them. There are two kinds of mask: eroded or noneroded. Eroded mask are used when the flow moves out of the image, which is usually the case at the image border. However, nothing goes through a wall then a noneroded mask can be helpful when there is wall in the image. The two kinds of mask can be combined: the eroded mask is computed and is masked with the noneroded mask.
