Chapter 1 | FIGHT ON, DEAR BROTHER!
Prince Edmund is saddened by the death of his brother but cheered that his father, the King, has returned from France.

Chapter 2 | HE WILL BE BACK
Edmund leads an English army against the Viking leader, Canute, who flees back to Denmark.

Chapter 3 | MURDER AND MARRIAGE
Edmund marries Lady Edith, wife of the murdered Lord Sigeferth, and they run away to the Danelaw.

Chapter 4 | ABANDONED!
Canute returns and Edmund raises an army to fight him; the Prince is betrayed by his brother-in-law, Lord Streona.

Chapter 5 | KING EDMUND
King Ethelred dies; Edmund becomes King of England.

Chapter 6 | STHE RETURN OF STREONA
King Edmund wins a series of battles against the Vikings; Streona switches sides again to join the English.

Chapter 7 | ONE LAST BATTLE
King Edmund is confident of finally defeating Canute with the help of Streona.

Chapter 8 | VIKING CONQUEST!
Streona abandons King Edmund in the middle of a battle; in despair, the King realizes he has broken his promise: the Vikings will conquer.

Viking Conquest! takes place early in the 11th century, when Anglo-Saxons and Vikings (from Scandinavia) were fighting to control England. The setting is real. So are all the main characters: Edmund Ironside, Ethelred the Unready, Canute, Lady Edith, and Lord Streona. The events actually happened, too, and I’ve woven them into this story to bring alive one of the most exciting times in our eventful history.
